RULES: 2008 UMP BOMBERS
Any American made vehicle, except 4 wd's and convertibles. Must be rear
wheel drive. Minimum 104" wheel base.
A: BODIES, APPEARANCE
1. All trim, lights and glass must be removed, except the windshield, which is
optional, but must have at least two metal straps with a screen. Every car must
be equipped with a working fire extinguisher. 2.5 LB min.
2. There will be no spoilers allowed in the Bomber Class. NO factory spoilers.
NO TWO WAY RADIOS!!!!!
3. FACTORY BODIES ONLY. 6-INCH GROUND CLEARANCE on side, 8" min. ground
clearance on front. Stock appearing bumpers FRONT & REAR!!! No Tubing in front
of Bumpers!!!
ALUMINUM BODIES OK MUST HAVE BODY LINES. CAMERO , MONTE
CARLO, GRAND PRIX Etc. MUST LOOK LIKE CAMERO, MONTE CARLO, GRAND PRIX Etc.
4. Wrecked cars must be Repaired weekly. KEEP THEM NEAT.
5. Area from cowl or firewall under the hood must be completely enclosed.
6. Hood and trunk lids must open easily.
7. NO MIRRORS ALLOWED
8. All structural tubing behind bumpers. ALL TUBING must remain inside of body, and
NO bumpers made of tubing or pipe.
9. Bumpers must not have any sharp edges.
10. Every car must have the cockpit separate from the trunk by installing a min.
.0662 thickness piece of steel or aluminum.
11. Frame must be a min. 2" x 3".
12. NO HOLES IN HOODS, NO SCOOPS FACTORY OR OTHER WISE!
B. ENGINES: -
1. Must be in stock location. NO engine setback, # 1 sparkplug must be in line
with or ahead of ball joints.
2. Cast iron intakes; exhaust manifolds, heads and cast iron blocks.
3. One carburetor,
4. Stock factory distributor.
5. NO HEADERS!!! NO BOW TIE INTAKES!! NO ANGLE PLUG HEADS.
6. All exhaust must be pointed away from ground. Horizontal preferably to
outside of car.
C. FUEL TANKS: -
1.Must be removed from the stock location, AND MUST USE APPROVED FUEL
CELL!!!!STEEL FUEL CELLS MANDATORY MUST BE PAINTED WHITE, OR RED.
2. All cars must have a fuel cell in steel container fastened with a minimum of
2 steel straps at least 2" wide and 1/8" thick.
3. Fuel cells must not be mounted lower than rear end.
D. NUMBERS:
Must have numbers on both sides and on roof
FACING SCORERS TOWER . A minimum of 24" tall.
MUST BE READABLE TO SCORERS IN THE TOWER. If scorers can not read them you will
not be scored.
E. RADIATOR: -
Radiator protection can not be wider than the frame, or go forward of the front
bumper. One radiator in stock position. NO oil or transmission coolers in
drivers compartment.
F: Suspension
1. Stock front clip. Stock upper and lower A-frames. Stock steering box control
arms. One shock mounted in stock position. NO late model or racing chassis. NO
rack and pinion. NO coil overs. Min. 5" diameter springs. Main frame rails are
to be made of 2" x 3" O.D. min. steel tubing.
2. Stock type rear-ends only!!! NO FIFTH COIL OR COIL COVERS No heim joints!
TRUCK REAR-END AND FLOATERS ARE PERMITTED.
3. No spring shocks or cushions can be added to linkage. NO BIRDCAGES!
4. No weight jacks
G: SAFETY
1. Every car must have hoops under the front of the driveshaft. DRIVE SHAFTS
PAINTED WHITE!!!
2. MUST HAVE a racing seat belt with quick release. Crotch strap required.
CAN
NOT BE OVER 3 YEARS OLD.
3. Approved fire suit and APPROVED HELMET.
4. Batteries must be securely mounted; using steel straps and then covered with
battery box.
5. Each weight must be fastened with a minimum of two ½" bolts. No stacking of
weights. No clamped in weights. Max. 50 lbs per each weight. All weights must
have car number on them.
6. A four-point roll cage with a minimum of 3 bars in driver's door. Cage
requirements are a must.
H. TIRES & WHEELS:
1. 8" maximum tread width & 10"MAX. Cross-section. Stock passenger tires only. .
Steel wheels only 8" max. NO BEAD LOCKS. NO HOOSIER, MCCREARY, OR OTHER DIRT
TIRES. NO SNOW TIRES.
2. Must have 5 wheel studs and nuts per wheel or you will not race.
3. ALL CARS must have working brakes on all 4 wheels. No aluminum calipers or
after-market brakes of any kind will be permitted.
I. TOW HOOKS:
1. MUST HAVE TOW HOOKS FRONT AND REAR.
J. TRANSMISSIONS:
1. No aftermarket transmissions. (Bert, Brinn, etc.) allowed.
Just because you have gotten away with a rule does not make it legal.
Oakshade Raceway reserves the right to take points away for rule violation,
driver or pit crew, or fan misconduct's. And or etc. We also may add points for
running the track in and or etc. 1.Any specification not covered in these rules
must be approved by track officials in writing before it is O.K.
THERE IS NO ALCOHOL, ILLEGAL DRUGS, OR FIREARMS ALLOWED IN THE PITS OR ANY
PROPERTY ASSOCIATED WITH OAKSHADE RACEWAY AT ANYTIME. ANY COMPETITOR FOUND WITH ANY TRACTION
CONTROL DEVICE BY OAKSHADE RACEWAY OFFICAL WILL BE FINED (up to $500.00) and
LOOSE ALL POINTS AND MONEY ,AND ALL ACCUMULATED POINTS. FINE MUST BE PAID BEFORE
CAR, CAR DRIVER AND CAR OWNER IS ALLOWED TO RACE AGAIN, IN ANY EVENTS AT
OAKSHADE RACEWAY .
The Rules and/Or Regulation set forth herein Do Not express or imply warranty of
safety from Publication of or Compliance with these rules and/or regulations.
These rules are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport, and are in no
way a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators, or others.
Officials shall have full authority over events at Oakshade Raceway. Track
officials have the final say in determining the eligibility of all participants
and cars, and trucks. Any competitor may be disqualified for rules violation,
hazardous actions, or assaults or threats against any official.
Oakshade Raceway management and persons also reserve the right to refuse any
truck, car, car driver, or person to race in any event, at any time, on any
property associated with Oakshade Raceway. We want to keep racing as safe as
